Hair-spiration!

Monday, April 28, 2014

I know I've shared before that I can be a bit on the indecisive side..
I'm still loving my Khloe K inspired ombre, but I'm feeling like I'd like to tone it down a bit.
Mainly because I think the contrast is a tad too dramatic from the back.
I set a hair appt for Sat and I have two different ideas.
I need help deciding which one to choose and would love to hear some of your opinions!  : )

Option 1

Add in a few honey colored highlights to tone down the contrast a bit.(see first picture)  As well as two face framing highlights. (2nd pic)

or

Option 2

Tone down the honey blonde color to more of a golden brown. Like these two pics.

Ugh... Help me !
I really love both looks, but I have so much going on this week getting ready for Cole's birthday party.
Let me know what you guys think!

Maybe I'll just live it up as a blonde this summer and then tone it down for Fall/Winter.  Just another option to consider.

Mozzarella and Spinach on Wheat!

Friday, April 25, 2014

As I mentioned before I've been loving spinach lately. (Avocados too!) Iv'e been making Avocado toast almost every morning!  This sandwich is a little twist on our usual staple Tomato Mozzarella and Basil sandwiches.   I just traded the french bread for Wheat Ciabatta and instead of basil leaves I piled on fresh spinach.

Ingredients
Your favorite loaf of wheat bread- I love Chabaso bakery wheat Ciabatta
Tip-Get it sliced in your bakery dept (saves you from making a mess on your cutting board!)
Tomato
Fresh spinach
Fresh Mozzarella (Get Bel Gioso!)
It is so good I swear I could eat the whole thing of it..
I buy the pre-sliced pack.
Olive Oil
Marinara sauce(for dipping)

Build your sandwiches on a cutting board or plate.
I lay down the Mozz first, followed by the tomato, then spinach.

Heat up a bit of olive oil in a pan and cook them up the same way you would a grilled cheese.
You could use a panini press if you have one!
Would probably be much easier, but I don't own one yet.

I recommend you serve them along side a little bowl of marinara sauce.  Barilla Marinara is the BEST!
If my store is out of it I won't even make these sandwiches.

Happy Friday!

Spring wish list

Obsessed with this dress
Been wanting these for a while
Perfect
Love this
Gorg
I usually get one of these every year
So pretty!

Here are a few pics from Easter.  We had a nice Holiday weekend.  We celebrated a little cousin's birthday as well.  Luke also participated in the egg hunt this year for the first time which was exciting!

Believe it or not she actually wore this flower all day!

Is it me or does Luke kind of resemble a mini Josh Hartnett? haha

Cole and my Dad

Notice the kids are hardly looking in any of the pics.  They were preoccupied with all the egg hunts and candy i guess lol. Hope your holiday was perfect!

Avocado Love!

Friday, April 18, 2014

I've recently fell in love with avocados.  They are so delicious and full of nutrients.  I just can't get enough!
I think it is a great alternative to butter but still tastes indulgent.

I made this simple avocado toast for Emily and I for breakfast today.(She loved it!)
Sadly I still struggle to get the boys to eat anything green!

Here's my recipe:

1 avocado peeled and finely chopped
Herbamare(Organic sea salt infused with herbs and veggies)
Honey wheat english muffins

1 Toast your english muffin.
2 Season your chopped avocado with Herbamare and spread on top of your english muffin.
Couldn't be easier!

This is such a quick and healthy breakfast (or snack)!

I also whipped up these divine little sandwiches Tuesday night.

All you'll need is a pack of mini butter croissants, mayo, bacon, tomato and avocado slices.
You can even skip the mayo, or try already done bacon and they would be practically effortless.
Serve them with a garden salad, or soup.

What are some of your favorite ways to enjoy avocados?

Wednesday LOVE

Lauren Conrad's secret weapon for glowy, perfectly moisturized skin!
I caught a clip on E News where Lauren Conrad mentioned this cream, so I of course had to learn more.
I did a bit of research, checked out some reviews and decided to try it out.
I plan to do a more comprehensive review in the future, but this is an awesome product!
It is really great as an under eye cream.

It is also effective in healing practically any skin ailment you can think of and best of all the ingredients are all natural! (Which would make it a fab stretch mark preventative for those in need!)

I've been burning this strawberry shortcake scented candle in my house every day.
It smells amazing!  I got it at Homegoods.

How gorg is this bathroom?

I have been in love with this Chiang Mai dragon print by Schumacher for years!
I am actually surprised I haven't caved and ordered some for a project yet. lol
I think the china blue would be gorgeous stretched over a big canvas in my living room.
Swoon

Lol this kills me, yes I know I'm a dork haha.

Dying to own this Lauren Conrad Collection Maxi!

I got this on Etsy years ago and still love it so much!
I tried to photograph the print that I own that I have hanging in my living room but it wasn't working out. (Massive glare problems)
Just another reason I need to invest in a better camera!

That's My Son: How Moms Can Influence Boys to Become Men of Character

Definitely on my summer reading list!
I'll do what I can to ensure I raise future gentleman! lol

Kind of want this

Sweetest nursery prints EVER.
Melts my heart.

Check out her home tour(linked above)! Her home is beautiful, and the playroom is pure perfection!

I've also been loving adding fresh chopped spinach to anything and everything I can lately. Scrambled eggs, quesadillas, grilled cheese, stuffed pasta you name it!  I feel like it has really increased my energy and is helping lighten up my current undereye situation.  Next stop green juices.  Anyone have a recipe they would recommend?

Have a Fabulous Wednesday!!
